Cuba Takes IHF Emerging Nations Title

NACHC representative, Cuba took home the 4th IHF Emerging Nations Championship on Sunday, 30 April with a convincing 28-18 win over Cyprus. Cuba went undefeated in the tournament, winning their two Group Play matches vs Great Britain (32-28) and Guatemala (27-17) and their knock out matches, versus hosts, Bulgaria (36-29) in the semifinal and then vs Cyprus in the gold medal match on Sunday. Left Wing, Hanser Rodriguez Rodriguez was named the MVP of the tournament and Lidier Vergara Martinez was named the best defender.
